Our Dental Medicine Residency Program emphasizes hospital-based dentistry, medicine and the treatment of medically compromised patients. The program includes supervised clinical experience and didactic learning experiences.
All of the ADA-recognized specialties are represented in the program, including restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, pedodontics, and periodontics.
In addition, residents' experiences are augmented by rotations through general internal medicine, medical oncology, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, oral and maxillofacial surgery, radiation oncology, cardiology and nephrology/hypertension services.
When you complete our program, you will be prepared to enter private practice with a broad base of knowledge and skills approximately 5 years beyond your graduating peers.
A copy of the Allegheny General Hospital Blood Borne and Infectious Diseases Policy will be provided upon request.
The Dental Medicine Residency program is part of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) opportunities offered by the AHN Medical Education Consortium. Learn more about Graduate Medical Education.
