The West Penn Hospital School of Nursing provides a solid foundation for you to begin your career. The Alumni Association enables you to keep in touch with classmates, provides networking opportunities, and gives you a mechanism to support current nursing student in the West Penn Program.

Alumni Association

All alumni of the West Penn Hospital School of Nursing share a special bond. Forged by an excellent education, exceptional clinical experiences, and the creation of lifelong friendships.The Alumni Association mission is to keep West Penn Hospital School of Nursing graduates connected and informed.This is accomplished by sending out an annual newsletter containing information regarding graduates and updates on the School’s students and activities. The Association also organizes an all-class reunion every 5 years. To provide an opportunity for Alumni to reunite with fellow classmates.Another part of the Associations mission is to provide support for the School of Nursing and its current students. To accomplish this the Association offers annual scholarships for nursing students. In addition, the Association provides financial support for various educational and professional activities for the school and students.

Alumni Association Meetings

To fulfill the Alumni Association’s mission, members of the Alumni meet quarterly. These meetings receive updates from the school, review scholarship applications, discuss requests for funding from the School or student groups, and plan the all-class reunion. All are welcome to attend the meetings. Meeting dates and times are published in the annual newsletter. If you would like a copy of the most recent newsletter or a copy of meeting minutes contact the Alumni Secretary, Denise Smith. Please provide your current name, graduation year, and name at graduation.

Keep In Touch 

It is important to update your contact information. Please notify the Association of name changes, new addresses, emails, and telephone numbers. Contact the Alumni Treasurer, Alyce Duffus, with any changes. This will keep our database updated and you will continue to receive Association newsletters.

Join the "West Penn Hospital School of Nursing Alumni" Facebook Group

Another way to keep connected with the Assocation is by joining our Facebook group. If you wish to be a member, please message the group directly through FaceBook. You need to provide your name at graduation and year, and your current name.

Dues and donations

Alumni Association dues help to grow our savings account so we can continue to fulfill our mission to support the school and its students. It also helps to defray the costs of printing and mailing the newsletters. Please download the Alumni Association Dues Form, print it out and complete it. Make checks payable to the West Penn Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. Mail to:
