Counseling and Support Groups at West Penn Hospital

West Penn Hospital offers a variety of educational programs to help people maintain a healthy lifestyle and take good care of themselves. The programs, which are presented by members of the hospital's health care team, are designed to answer your personal questions about good health care.

Burn Concern

Burn Concern is a volunteer support group created by, and for, survivors or loved ones of survivors of burn injuries or Steven-Johnson syndrome.

Burn Concern meetings are held the third Saturday of each month at 2:00 PM in the West Penn Burn Center conference room within West Penn Hospital. Meetings are open to all current Burn Center patients and to survivors and family members. Light refreshments are served.

CenteringPregnancy®

CenteringPregnancy is a prenatal and pregnancy support group offered at select AHN offices that helps expecting parents feel more prepared for labor, delivery, and infant care. Each session lasts between 90 minutes and two hours, and is offered at the following locations:

  • Federal North Medical Office Building
  • West Penn Hospital

Olivia's Angels Palliative Care Program

If you’ve received the heartbreaking news that your child has a life-limiting condition and may not survive long after birth, the Olivia’s Angels Palliative Care Program is here to help guide you through what happens next. Through this program we help you develop a birth plan, assist you in understanding and managing any additional complications, and speak to you about our palliative care for babies. You are dealing with an unbearable outcome and our team is here to support you and help you honor your child.
