The most common penile implant is a three-piece device consisting of a fluid reservoir that sits within the pelvis, two tubes that replace the erectile tissue in the penis, and a pump located in the scrotum. Squeezing the pump brings water from the reservoir into the implant to inflate it and produce an erection. The tubes can be deflated when desired.
