Family house

Family House is a non-profit organization that provides an affordable “home away from home” for patients and families receiving medical care at Pittsburgh area hospitals, hospices, and rehabilitation centers. 

With convenient access to the hospital, Family House offers guest rooms with private bathrooms, a communal kitchen, a daily healthy breakfast program, and transportation to and from the hospital. Nightly rates are significantly lower than area hotels, making Family House an affordable alternative. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

Cafe Allegheny, AGH's cafeteria, is located on the second floor of the Snyder Pavilion.

• Cafe Allegheny is open during the following hours:
  • Monday through Friday – 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM
    (hot food lines close at 7 pm Grab & Go entrees and snacks available from 7 pm to midnight)
  • Saturday and Sunday – 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM
    (hot food lines close at 7:00 PM Grab & Go entrees and snacks available from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM)
• Offering a fresh salad bar, deli sandwiches, grill specials, homemade soups and a variety of featured entrees and sides made fresh daily

Allegheny General Hospital Gift Shop

The Allegheny General Hospital Gift Shop is located in the main lobby on the first floor of Snyder Pavilion.

• The Gift Shop is open during the following hours:
  • Monday - Friday:  8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM
