Clinic hours and information

The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and is staffed by a nurse practitioner, a registered nurse, and a medical assistant, working with an oncologist. Connecting you with cancer support services

Your cancer care doesn’t end with a visit to the After Hours Clinic. Clinic caregivers will connect you with services that will help ensure a smooth transition of care from clinic to home and community, including:

  • AHN’s Healthcare@Home
  • Supportive Medicine Service.
  • A 48-hour post-discharge follow-up call from a nurse navigator to all patients will help ensure that needed services have begun and help facilitate any additional patient needs.

What we treat

Side effects from treatments can significantly decrease your quality of life, and are often worse at night. The After Hours Clinic is ready to treat your symptoms, including:

  • Pain
  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Upper respiratory infections
  • Coughing
  • Painful mouth sore
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation
  • Dehydration
  • Rashes

Benefits of the After Hours Oncology Clinic

While you should still visit the emergency room if you're experiencing life threatening symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath, the After Hours Oncology Clinic is a great option if you have any of the treatment side effects listed above.

Many treatments compromise your immune system, and the after hours clinic helps protect you from other illnesses you might be exposed to in the emergency room. Having a special clinic to visit for your specific needs also decreases wait times, so you can quickly get the care you need.

How to access the After Hours Clinic

If you are experiencing post-treatment pain or other related symptoms, please contact the oncology physician on-call as you normally would. They will determine if your symptoms can be addressed at home, or if you need to come to the clinic. Your physician will be contacted and the clinic will be notified so they can prepare for your arrival. It is important that you call ahead. Call (412) 770-3571 with any questions.
