Saint Vincent Hospital (SVH) was the first hospital in Erie and boasts the 140-year legacy of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. SVH is known for providing excellence in quality outcomes in an environment of caring. We are a community hospital that has grown to serve residents of northwest Pennsylvania, New York, and Ohio.
At SVH, our nurses are known for providing high-quality, compassionate care. Our nursing philosophy puts patients at the center of everything we do. We support patients and families during some of life’s most difficult challenges.

We also demonstrate these principles through use of the shared governance model as a management strategy. The model works through collaboration and accountability. It enables leadership and nurses at all level to focus on meaningful recognition, relationship-based care, and quality outcomes as reported by the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators.
