Plastic Surgery

The AHN Plastic Surgery Division provides you with a team of board-certified plastic surgeons who perform a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures

Comprehensive and personalized care

Our plastic surgeons have the expertise to treat a wide range of patients and surgical problems. Our specialists take the time to understand your expectations and then tailor our recommendations to help give you the results you’re looking for.

Cosmetic plastic surgery

Our plastic surgeons provide a wide range of cosmetic services. Their expertise helps us deliver excellent results while keeping you safe and under quality care.

Reconstructive plastic surgery

We perform reconstruction surgeries to correct facial and body abnormalities caused by injury, diseases such as cancer, birth defects, major weight loss, and/or aging. We can also help you improve function and chronic pain. This care includes reconstructive plastic surgery procedures that improve nerve pain. Some of our plastic surgeons have specialized training and expertise in nerve surgery, hand trauma, lymphedema, and breast reconstruction.

Safety first focus

We perform all plastic surgery procedures in a certified or hospital-based surgery center. As a result, only board-certified plastic surgeons, trained nurses, and anesthesiologists participate in your care. Their expertise, paired with our equipped facilities, results in a safer experience for you.

Comprehensive plastic surgery services

All of our plastic surgery specialists are board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. You can be confident that you’re in skilled, experienced hands at AHN, no matter what type of reconstructive or cosmetic surgery you may need.

Cosmetic surgery

When you look in the mirror, we want you to smile. If you have concerns about your nose, stomach, or any other part of your body that you would like to change, we may be able to help. Our team of dedicated plastic surgery specialists is committed to helping you leave our office looking and feeling great.

Our plastic surgeons can perform surgical and noninvasive cosmetic procedures to enhance just about any part of the body:

Botox® and other injections

Botox and filler injections can effectively smooth out wrinkles around different parts of your face, including your forehead and mouth.

Body sculpting

Liposuction, tummy tucks, and other body sculpting techniques involve removing fat from one or more areas of your body. These procedures reshape problem areas, such as your stomach or upper arms.

Post-bariatric reconstructive surgery

We can manage excess skin with many body sculpting procedures — such as arm lifts, thigh lifts, back lifts, and breast lifts — following major weight loss.

Cosmetic breast surgery

Cosmetic breast procedures help you love your breast size, fullness, and shape. We perform breast procedures — including augmentation, lift, and reduction procedures — to restore a more youthful look and feel to your breasts.

Facelifts and other face procedures

Surgical procedures such as facelifts or brow lifts can take away creases and improve your appearance. Ear surgery can make your facial features proportionate, or more in line with the size of your eyes and nose.

Rhinoplasty

A rhinoplasty (or nose job) can enhance your nose’s shape and help you breathe better. While it’s one of the most common types of plastic surgery, this procedure can involve many intricate techniques. Our plastic surgeons use their extensive training to deliver great results for the most complicated cases.

Skin treatments

Unearth softer, firmer skin that’s free from years of sun damage. Chemical peels and other skin treatments can improve wrinkles, acne, and the overall look and feel of your body’s biggest organ.

Reconstructive plastic surgery

Reconstructive surgeries help you feel and function better if you have a congenital condition (present at birth) or following illness or trauma. We understand how these things impact everyday activities and even how you feel about yourself. We can help.

Breast reconstruction surgery

Our plastic surgeons are skilled at many different breast reconstruction surgeries performed along with or following breast surgery for cancer or other conditions. These include single stage implant reconstruction at the time of mastectomy, robotic DIEP flap reconstruction, post-mastectomy Resensation®, LYMPHA surgery for patients at risk for lymphedema, and skin-only mastopexy during nipple-sparing mastectomy.

General reconstructive surgery

Additional reconstructive surgeries available include limb salvaging and cleft palate repair. We perform reconstructive surgeries with other specialties, such as for burn trauma and skin cancer.

Pelvic reconstruction surgery

We perform reconstructive surgeries to address damage to female anatomy — such as your bladder, vagina, and pelvic floor — if you suffer damage from gynecological surgery, cancer treatment, or other reasons. Other procedures include vaginal reconstruction, surgery to the vulva, skin grafts, and complex reconstruction after gynecological, urological, and colorectal procedures, orthopaedic surgery, and trauma.

Head and neck reconstruction surgery

Reconstructive surgeries address a variety of issues that may impact your face, head, and neck, such as cancer, deformities, burns, and trauma. We perform reconstructive surgeries to improve function and appearance.

Gender-affirming surgery

If you’re considering gender-affirming surgery, we provide an environment where you can feel comfortable exploring your options and have your questions answered. We have plastic surgeons who specialize in performing gender-affirming surgeries, including chest masculinization or feminization, pelvic and craniofacial surgeries, and microsurgery. These reconstructive surgeries can be a part of a comprehensive gender-affirming care plan along with other treatments, such as hormone therapy.

Our Center for Inclusion Health is committed to expanding our gender-affirming medical and surgical services and providing comprehensive, compassionate care.

Hand surgery

Some of our plastic surgeons have received extra training in restoring hand feeling, movement, and function after trauma, such as fractures, tendon lacerations, or nerve injuries.

Peripheral nerve surgery

We offer innovative nerve surgery. Our reconstructive surgery team includes surgeons who have earned national distinction for their expertise.

Our plastic surgeons perform targeted muscle reinnervation surgery to transfer a nerve and improve function. The procedure can also help reduce or eliminate significant pain if you have complex neuromas or phantom pains from a limb amputation.

We have experience performing complex procedures — including decompression, nerve reconstructions, nerve transfers, and regenerative peripheral nerve interface formation — to help with chronic compression or nerve injuries.

Clinical trials and research

Many plastic surgery doctors at AHN engage in research to advance the practice, improve medical outcomes, and enhance quality of life for patients. Our plastic surgeons work in innovative areas, such as restoring sensation during reconstructive surgery following mastectomy and the potential for nipple-saving mastectomies for higher-risk patients.

What is a clinical trial?

Clinical trials are studies that try to answer questions about new ways to treat conditions with medications or surgical techniques. Previous trials have shown how new methods of treatment improve quality of life.

You participate in a clinical trial only if you volunteer to do so and meet criteria for inclusion in the study. You can stop participating in a trial at any time.

Who can join a clinical trial?

The plan for the trial, called a protocol, explains the goal of the trial and how the study will be conducted. Based on the questions the research is trying to answer, each clinical trial protocol outlines specific criteria necessary to be eligible to join the trial.

Federal rules help ensure that clinical trials are run in an ethical manner, with your rights and safety protected. These rules ensure that you’re not put at increased risk by participating in the trial, and that the results of the study are accurate and meaningful.

Currently active clinical trials

If you would like to participate in a clinical trial and help our innovative team discover groundbreaking solutions, ask your doctor if you’re eligible to participate in one. See which clinical trials are currently active and open for participation.
