When you choose the AHN Cancer Institute, you're choosing highly acclaimed and comprehensive cancer treatment. Accreditation status shows our commitment to excellence and ongoing quality improvement in practice. We've done our research, and we will tirelessly pursue all avenues to make you feel like you're in the best hands. Some of our facilities' accreditations include:
QOPI evaluates performance against standards established by oncology experts.
AHN Cancer Institute's participation in the QOPI Certification Program not only sets the benchmark against other top-performing practices, but also supports and strengthens the effectiveness of our ongoing oncology journey.
An accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) means assurance of the highest standards of care for patients with diseases of the breast. Administered by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the NAPBC works to acknowledge those institutes with the most efficient and up-to-date scientific approaches to breast cancer oncology. Allegheny General Hospital, Jefferson Hospital and Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion have earned this accreditation.
The CoC’s Integrated Network Cancer Program (INCP) classification means that patients can expect coordinated quality of care, across doctors and facilities, within a health care network.
INCP status supports AHN Cancer Institute’s dedication to Expedited Care, which focuses on fast responses to cancer diagnosis and also attempts to save you time by having you meet all of your oncology team all at once, in one place.
The rectal cancer programs at Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) and Forbes Hospital are the first facilities in Pennsylvania, and the seventh and eight facilities in the country, to achieve accreditation by the NAPRC.
The NAPRC accreditation means that the programs at AGH and Forbes are at the forefront of multidisciplinary rectal cancer care, following rigorous standards and best practices.
FACT accreditation establishes the bar for excellence in therapies and treatments for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, or other life-threatening blood disorders.
AHN Cancer Institute Division of Hematology and Cellular Therapy at West Penn Hospital is FACT-accredited, demonstrating a patient-centered approach to cancer care. Our highly experienced blood cancer experts proudly uphold FACT’s rigorous quality standards.
Accreditation through APEx is a rigorous, voluntary, multi-step process during which a center’s policies and procedures are evaluated using consensus-based standards for radiation oncology practice. In total, 11 AHN Cancer Institute facilities have demonstrated our commitment to high standards of safety and quality and show that we practice patient-centered care by promoting effective communication, coordinating treatment, and engaging patients and their families as partners in care.
