Health insurance can be confusing and difficult to understand. At Allegheny Health Network, we want to take the guesswork out of your insurance coverage questions. By contracting with many major insurance plans, AHN offers a variety of in-network options. You can search by hospital or insurance plan to see where your coverage is accepted at AHN.
Our website is updated frequently, but it is always a good idea to check with your health insurer before a new appointment for coverage information.
To learn more about which insurance plans are accepted by AHN in general, see: Insurance Coverage by Payor.
To learn more about which insurance plans are accepted at specific AHN facilities, see: Insurance Coverage by AHN Facility.
To check your Medicaid eligibility in three simple steps, see: Renew your Medicaid and CHIP Benefits.
AHN works closely with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and its affiliated Blue companies (“Highmark”) to bring the patient, doctor, and insurer to the same table to provide our patients with personalized care. All Highmark plans are accepted at AHN facilities within the state of Pennsylvania, which means that Highmark members have many in-network options when it comes to finding the right AHN facility and doctor for them. Highmark also offers pharmacy support and medication therapy management while working together with AHN to improve quality, access to care, and reduce overall costs.
Most UPMC plans do not participate with all Allegheny Health Network hospitals. This means that if you have UPMC as your insurance carrier, you may pay out-of-network rates for care received at AHN facilities. In accordance with the No Surprises Act, emergency services are billed at in-network rates for UPMC commercial plans. Please check with UPMC for coverage information prior to your appointment.
