Burn Management for the Adult and Pediatric Patient

Course Description

This course will provide practice in managing a burn patient from arrival to the burn unit to in-patient care through two interactive simulated scenarios. The nurses will demonstrate specialized care to meet the established competencies from the American Burn Association for Burn Nurses.

Learning Objectives

1. Demonstrate initial management of the burn patient from appropriately assessing severity of the burn.
2. Manage pain, while providing appropriate wound care for the severely burned patient.
