Allegheny Health Network Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship provides comprehensive imaging training in all aspects of cardiothoracic disease including advanced cardiothoracic imaging and image-guided thoracic interventional procedures. Allegheny Health Network is a large health care system based in Pittsburgh which encompasses seven hospitals and 17,000 employees throughout western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia. The fellowship will provide imaging training in all aspects of the cardiothoracic disease. The cardiothoracic radiology division volumes include over 160,000 diagnostic exams including 10,000 thoracic CTs, 200 thoracic MRIs, 300 cardiac CTs, 100 cardiac MRIs, and 200 biopsies per year. The fellow will have additional opportunity for a rotation outside of cardiothoracic radiology or additional cardiac MRI training with cardiology at the discretion of the division and department chairs.
Applicants should be enrolled in an ACGME-accredited residency program, must be able to obtain an unrestricted license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and should have passed the Core examination of the American Board of Radiology. Because this is a nontraditional fellowship, the fellow will be expected to spend no greater than 20% of his/her time functioning as a junior attending.
The Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship program is part of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) opportunities offered by the AHN Medical Education Consortium. Learn more about Graduate Medical Education.
