ATI-TEAS and Fundamentals of Nursing Testing Procedures

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a standardized, multiple choice entrance exam for students applying to U.S.-based nursing programs. The results help determine how prepared you are for the program’s coursework. 

ATI-TEAS testing

ATI-TEAS Version 7.0 entrance examination is available on-site at Citizens School of Nursing in the paper/pencil format only.

The following examination dates are available at Citizens School of Nursing:

  • Tuesday, November 18, 2025 @ 9:00 AM

  • Tuesday, March 10, 2026 @ 9:00 AM
  • Thursday, April 16, 2026 @ 9:00 AM

Prior to registering for one of the above on-site testing dates, prospective candidates must submit a paid application to the School of Nursing.

To schedule the ATI-TEAS examination at the Citizens of Nursing campus, please email CSONadmissions@ahn.org, or call (412) 330-4766.

All applicants are required to pay a $85 examination fee. This fee must be paid prior to the scheduled examination. Repeat examinations on campus will require an additional $85 fee.

Note: Applicants may take the ATI-TEAS at another testing site. A copy of the TEAS results/transcript should be sent from the ATI website to the admissions office at Citizens School of Nursing. On the ATI website, select Share my Results and select the Citizens SON. ATI will require an additional fee to send the results.

ATI – Fundamentals of Nursing Test (Online)

The ATI Fundamentals of Nursing Test will be conducted online on the dates listed below.

Once we receive your email, registration information will be sent to you.

Applicants must achieve at least a Level 2 result to be eligible for advanced standing in:

  • Spring semester (Full-Time), or
  • Fall semester (Part-Time)

Applicants who receive a Level 1 will not be eligible for advanced standing, but may be considered for regular admission in:

  • Fall semester (Full-Time), or
  • Spring semester (Part-Time)

Each applicant may take the Fundamentals of Nursing Assessment only once.

ATI-Fundamentals of Nursing test preparation

ATI registration and test ID number instructions

Before taking the ATI TEAS or ATI Fundamentals of Nursing Test, all applicants must create a free account with ATI (Assessment Technologies Institute, LLC) and obtain a personal ATI testing ID number.

You will need this ATI ID number on the day of your test. Please bring a printed or written copy of your ATI ID number with you to the exam.

How to Create an ATI Account and Get Your ID Number:

  1. Go to www.atitesting.com
  2. Click on "Create an Account" and follow the on-screen prompts.
  3. When asked for your institution, select or search for Citizens SON.
  4. Once your account is created, your ATI ID (paper/pencil number) will appear under your Account Information.
  5. Print or write down this ID number and keep it in a safe place — you will need it:
    • On your test day
    • If you're accepted, throughout the nursing program

ATI test day guidelines:

  • Arrive at least 15 minutes early.
    • Late arrivals will not be allowed to take the test and will need to reschedule.
  • Bring the following items with you:
    • Your ATI paper/pencil ID number
    • A valid photo ID (must be current and one of the following)
      • Driver’s License
      • U.S. Passport
      • U.S. Permanent Resident Card
      • Military ID
Expired or non-approved forms of ID will not be accepted. If you don’t have a valid ID, you will not be allowed to take the exam and must reschedule.
