Life in Pittsburgh as a Pathology Resident

“Pittsburgh gives a “small big city” vibe, with towering buildings in downtown to small local shops in the suburbs. The city is multicultural, the people are nice and there are so many things to do and explore! From going to a Steelers game to kayaking along the river to visiting the Andy Warhol Museum to taking a walk at Phipps Botanical Garden, there are so many things to do! Furthermore, it’s a great place to raise a family, the area has excellent school districts, you can afford to buy a house on a resident’s salary, and the suburbs are constantly expanding. For the outdoor enthusiasts there are ample local resources including state parks, rivers, and hiking/biking trails. The area truly has something for everyone. ” - Fred Chen PGY-4
