About Cai & Kate®

'Cai & Kate' resources, including both videos and a comprehensive curriculum, are highly beneficial for a broad audience, encompassing caregivers, educators, and healthcare providers seeking tools to foster emotional well-being in children.

The show is structured across distinct episode series:

  • Episodes 1-10: Focus on foundational emotional literacy, including the identification of core emotions (e.g., happiness, anger, sadness, fear), body clue recognition, and the introduction of practical 'Chill Skills®' for self-regulation.
  • Episodes 11-20: Feature community-based social narratives, designed to prepare children for new experiences and transitions, such as travel to unfamiliar environments.
  • Episodes 21-30: Address pertinent childhood topics through an engaging, news-desk style format.
  • Cai’s Corner videos: Uses Imaginative storytelling to reinforce chill skill® practice.
  • Minis for Minis videos: Highlights bite size bits of emotional learning intended for our earliest learners ages 0-5 years.

The curriculum features a range of flexible activities that can be adapted to meet the unique needs of each learner. All content is aligned with the following five core competencies: Self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness. For each episode, supplemental resources are provided to enhance learning:

  • Introduction Scripts – Engage learners and introduce the lesson’s key concepts.
  • Body Clue Review – Reinforce self-regulation strategies by helping learners recognize and understand their emotions.
  • Chill Skill® Practice – Offer practical exercises for developing coping strategies and enhancing self-management skills.
  • Activities – Dive deeper into episode themes with psychoeducational exercises designed to promote CASEL competencies.
  • Art Activities – Encourage creative exploration of lesson topics. Art serves as both a coping strategy (i.e., Chill Skill®) and a therapeutic tool, aligning with the curriculum’s focus on emotional well-being.
  • Supplemental Index– Reinforce key concepts and vocabulary through structured exercises and worksheets associated to each episode.
